Job Description and Responsibilities

You are a self-motivated startup enthusiast who wants to get things done and is looking for operational experience at an early-stage startup. You are proactive and thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work closely with the company’s founders and be responsible for managing Jacobi’s Emeryville office. This will include procurement, problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, managing the lab area with multiple industrial robots, and more. This is a 25-30 hours per-week, part-time position with flexible working hours and potential for advancement, which may evolve into a full-time opportunity based on performance and business growth.

Compensation for this role is up to $25/hour. Students are encouraged to apply. 

  • Fluent proficiency in English
  • Extremely comfortable working with workshop power tools including drill press, band saw, circular saw, drills and more. 
  • Strong mechanical design and fabrication experience required
  • Proficient in metal fabrication, including sheet metal and aluminum work
  • Experience with CAD softwares (Solidworks, AutoCAD) is a plus
  • Possession of a valid driver's license required
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a practical and solution-oriented mindset
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
