Full job description

Taylor’d Systems transforms cargo shipping containers into unique training props for fire departments nationwide. We also build fire training facilities and custom containers for various projects, including the Coffee Can and concert venue booths at Northern Quest Casino, the Gorge Amphitheater, and Ridgefield Amphitheater.

Seeking to fill a new position for a Fabricator to join our growing team at Taylor’d Containers. Looking for someone who is self-motivated, self-directed, and looking for opportunities to grow!

This person will work closely with our Production Leads to prioritize welding jobs and to meet customer deadlines.

Welder/Fabricator duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG welding techniques
  • Use manual and automated machinery (e.g., shears, grinders, bandsaws)
  • Measure, mark, and align metal components for welding frames and components
  • Perform fabrication tasks such as welding, grinding, and drilling.

Blueprint Interpretation:

  • Read and interpret blueprints (basic level and willing to train the right candidate)

Quality Control:

  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for accuracy and structural integrity.

Maintenance and Safety:

  • Maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred: (willing to train the right candidate)

· Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG)

· Experience using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking equipment.

· Basic understanding of blueprints and technical drawings.

· Attention to detail and precision in fabrication.

· Basic math and measuring skills.

· Problem-solving abilities.

· Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Hours – Monday – Thursday 4:00AM-2:30PM, or as Project dictates – this is an on-site position at our Taylor’d Shop.

Work Environment:

  • This position may involve working in industrial, construction, or workshop environments.
  • Exposure to high heat, loud noise, and heavy machinery is common.

Pay Range: DOE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week with overtime available

  • 10 hour shift
