Long Term Substitute Grade 1 (November 2024 - April 2025)
Job Summary:
Kent Center School is seeking a candidate to teach in the elementary grades who have high academic expectations and believe that all children can achieve them. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the CT Core Standards as well as the pedagogical and assessment practices that support the successful student attainment of expected learning outcomes. A strong understanding of literacy and numeracy development as well as data collection in these areas is essential. Additionally, the candidate must be able to explain their understanding of tiered intervention strategies and their experience with an RTI process. The successful candidates must also be strong collaborators and be able to articulate their beliefs about how to contribute to a positive and energized school climate and culture. This includes a clearly exhibited care for all students and a strong belief that every student can achieve success. A demonstration lesson may be part of the interview and selection process.
