POSITION SCOPE: The Mental Health Counselor will work with individuals who have been diagnosed with epilepsy or other seizure disorders. The counselor will provide assessment and counseling services addressing epilepsy-related cognitive and emotional challenges. Under the clinical supervision of EAFLA's existing staff psychologist, the counselor will work towards improving the quality of life for clients and ensuring that their mental health needs are addressed.  

QUALIFICATIONS: Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, or related mental health discipline and be licensed to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Prior experience working with individuals who have epilepsy or other seizure disorders or disabilities is highly desirable, but not required—strong knowledge of cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques and their application in mental health counseling.
