Location in Oregon, IL - Oregon Healthcare Pharmacy Services, Inc. is an independently owned Long Term Care Pharmacy in Oregon, IL. Currently providing services to Nursing Homes, Assisted Living, ICF/DD and CILA group homes, and alternate site facilities throughout Northwest Illinois. We are currently expanding our operations and service area and seeking excellent employees to help provide continued excellent service in the LTC marketplace. Historic and beautiful Oregon, IL. is less than 2 hours from Chicago/Rockford/Quad Cities/Wisconsin.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Day-to-Day Operations

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy.
  • Oversee growing team of 4 pharmacists and 20 technicians, as well as additional support staff.
  • Scheduling and coverage of Pharmacists PTO
  • Monitor and manage daily/cycle workflow (including, but not limited to, data entry, dispensing, medical records, purchasing, and credits/returns), technology, record keeping, timely routine and STAT delivery, and facility/customer liaison.
  • Coordinate and schedule delivery personnel, routine delivery times, STAT deliveries, and weekend/on-call coverage.

2. Compliance

  • Complete application and assume transfer of Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
  • Implement and manage inventory in compliance with accrediting bodies and State/Federal regulations.
  • Maintain pharmacy and personnel licensure.

3. Quality Assurance and Productivity

  • Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policy and procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Manage productivity related to data entry, dispensing, medical record management, and delivery, with a focus on reducing drug and labor waste.
  • Manage drug inventory, updates, cost/pricing, and usage.

4. Staff Development

  • Ability to effectively evaluate performance and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Oversee and manage training processes in addition to evaluation/competency of current staff.
  • Educate and provide resources to improve and maintain pharmacy staff competence.
  • Interview and hire new employees for specified departments.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience with multi-facility oversight in the long term care industry.
  • Active Illinois Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Strong and complete knowledge of State and Federal regulations.
  • Skilled proficiency with pharmacy and workflow software, EHR interface, and Office programs.
  • Leadership and staff management experience required.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-starter, with ability to manage multiple tasks and problem solve simultaneously.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sound professional judgement consistent with clinical and academic background.
  • Significant interaction with clients and professional staff requiring excellent communication skills.
