SUPERVISOR: Sugar Hill Creamery Store Manager

Sugar Hill Creamery is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Catering Scoopers on an independent contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join Harlem's first family-owned handmade ice cream shop as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate is energetic, customer-oriented, and has a passion for food (especially ice cream!).

Ice Cream Scoopers will be responsible for representing Sugar Hill Creamery at various events, serving our premium ice cream with a smile and ensuring a positive experience for our catering clients and their guests. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced setting, enjoy interacting with people, and want to be part of a small but mighty team making a big impact in the local food scene.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain ice cream stations at catering events
• Scoop and serve ice cream in a professional and efficient manner
• Interact with customers, answering questions about flavors and ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times
• Assist with breakdown and clean-up after events
• Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations
• Assist in training new team members as needed
• Handle credit card/cash transactions when required

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Reliable transportation to event locations
• Food handler's certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Prior experience in food service or catering is a plus
• Must provide two professional references

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds

• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Food Handler's License is ideal but not required; willingness to obtain one is encouraged

• Passion for ice cream and the Harlem community is a plus!

Contract Details:

• Rate: $37.50 per hour
• Minimum shift length: 4 hours
