Development Assistant
UJA-JCC Greenwich is seeking a quality professional who will work closely with the Development team to ensure all campaign gifts and commitments are processed, recorded, and recognized properly. The candidate will also provide back-end donor and team support to ensure data quality across all systems, primarily our CRM Raiser’s Edge. In addition, the candidate will assist with the agency's day-to-day activities. This individual interacts with the entire community, and most heavily with leadership.
Essential Functions:
Administrative and Communications
- Manage front desk reception and all telephone inquiries; screen and monitor security system for building entry.
- Update and maintain the office calendar.
- Prepare thank you/tax letters for donors, event participants, and tribute cards.
- Manage logistics of campaign direct mail when not outsourced.
- Liaise with advertisers and assist with proofing and editing of agency publications.
Systems and Database
- Process all incoming records into the donor database, entering donations, pledges, and documentation, creating new accounts, and updating existing accounts.
- Ensure data integrity in Raisers Edge, finding and resolving duplicate entries, invalid addresses, improper salutations and address changes.
- Ensure the database effectively captures constituent information
- Design and run donor mailing, event registration, and other project-based reports for the Development team.
- Perform monthly checks of the UJA-JCC website for accuracy and to ensure marketing pro has updated information.
Events and Board Management
- Create name tags and assist in preparing Journals or programs.
- Procure food for meetings and assist with event set up, check-in, and breakdown as needed.
- Assist with scheduling board and committee meetings.
- Help coordinate allocations grant process and communications.
- Draft board minutes and maintain board and committee lists and files.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with donors, staff, vendors, and board members.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level of proficiency with PCs and Microsoft OS.
- Advanced skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to respond quickly and effectively to a rapidly changing and demanding environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Learn new software and have an adventuresome orientation toward refreshing/enhancing one's computer software skill.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, and positive personality.
- Works cooperatively as a member of the team.
- Experience with databases, preferably experience with Blackbaud or other similar constituent relationship management or donor databases, is a plus.
- Experience with Constant Contact a plus.
- Able to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.

The salary range for this position is $43,000 to $47,000, based on experience.
