Portable Roll Forming/Standing Seam Operator Job Description

The portable roll forming operator is responsible for setting up a portable roll former with one of 10 different profiles. The technician must load proper coil color/width in the proper direction on the machines de-coiler using a fork lift. After forming a sample panel, the technician must measure the panel for accuracy while comparing it to the appropriate shop drawing. In addition, pallets or crates must be built for in house crating or the technician must drive to the job site and roll form panels on site. The above responsibilities include but are not limited to.

• Must have a valid NYS driver license with a clean driving record
• This position requires the applicant to work in all outdoors seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter)
• Must be self-motivated and attention to detail
• Mechanical understanding of machines and tools
• Ability to read shop drawings
• Ability to maneuver a truck and trailer combination
• Ability to back up and down a residential driveway
• Sense of urgency and work diligence
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads – 50+ lbs
• Build crates for products manufactured in house using 2x4’s
• Willing to learn
• No experience needed but helpful
• Fork lift training provided
