JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring expenditures, maintaining accurate and completeness of accounting records. Collaborate with the Finance team to successfully execute various accounting tasks.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Prepare, verify and process A/P invoices and coding payment documents.
  2. Assist in preparing weekly check run.
  3. Prepare vendor checks for mailing.
  4. Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  5. Cash management entries and bank reconciliations.
  6. Fixed asset additions and disposals in SAGE.
  7. Assist in the monthly reconciliations of company accounts
  8. Assist in month end closing procedures.
  9. Perform other related duties as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or GED along with related/equivalent experience or Associates Degree required.
  2. Knowledge of office administration and bookkeeping procedures. This includes banking and cash management.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines.
  4. Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively outside the box with sound judgment and accurate analysis
  5. Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  6. Computer skills including the ability to operate accounting systems and Microsoft Office programs.
