Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attend preconstruction and regularly scheduled project progress meetings. 
• Review and interpret construction plans and related documents.
• Coordinate and conduct on-site inspection activities to ensure compliance with project plans.
• Monitor the contractor’s proposed work schedule and the actual construction schedule and promptly report to the design professional and/or LASA, discrepancies between the schedules and any conditions that may cause construction delays.
• Observe and document all testing procedures, results, as required in the contract documents.
• Prepare daily reports and photographs including description of contractor activities, labor, and equipment identification and quantities.
• Review contractor’s application for payment and recommend approval of the work inspected (in compliance with contract plans and specifications).
• Perform any other department job duties that may be necessary and not included on this listing.

Job Type:  Full-time – Dayshift – 7:00 am – 3:30 pm M-F * note -hours may vary based on contractor work schedule.

Education/Experience:

• Any combination of education and experience that indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed above. An example of acceptable qualifications for this position is a high school diploma or the equivalent, plus some technical work experience in public works construction or inspection, and a combination of previous work-related experience and on the job training. Coursework in construction management is a plus. Possession of the experience cited in the guideline does not guarantee successful performance nor will it be used as the sole basis of hiring or promotion. 

Required Licenses/Certifications:

· At time of hire, valid PA Driver’s License, Class C, and ability to meet and maintain eligibility for inclusion under LASA’s vehicle insurance policy. Valid NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP/ITCP, OSHA 30 Certification, Construction Inspector Certification (at hire or within 180 days of hire), Excellent benefits package.
