Plumbing Technician - An Exciting Opportunity at Ginger Cove!

Full-time - 40+ hours per week

Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Plumbing Technician (Monday-Friday and weekend shift rotation) to support our community.  The Technician is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures, and/or specific instruction from the Director of Plant Operations or Maintenance Manager.  Performs operational duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the campus in good repair.  Conducts preventative maintenance, including routine and urgent repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain all building mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance as directed by Supervisor.
  • Interact professionally with residents daily while performing tasks throughout the campus. 
  • Effectively maintain energy conservation program for area of responsibility.
  • Participate in all property fire protection, safety, and evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition.
  • Work in a safe and clean manner while ensuring equipment and building spaces are operating safely.
  • Perform daily mechanical inspections in area of responsibility.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on routine work orders within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions as required.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Adhere to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Plumbing Certifications required. 
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in maintenance and/ or trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, or masonry is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to: read and interpret general business periodicals/ governmental regulations, blueprints and mechanical drawings, and procedure manuals. 
  • Must present self in a professional manner and strive to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, and the general public.
  • Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with our senior community.
  • Knowledge of fire safety, proper chemical handling and proper tool and equipment use.
