Muir’s Tea Room is expanding our days open and hours as we celebrate our Tenth year as one of West County’s most popular destinations.
Located in a stunning historic Queen Anne Victorian with a lush cottage garden on Main Street in Sebastopol, Muir’s beautiful venue offers an elaborate English/Scottish inspired High Tea. Our themed Teas are a set menu and a full meal, featuring salads, tarts, savories, finger sandwiches, scones and desserts elaborately showcased on three tier Towers. We use as many organic ingredients as possible and our entire menu is vegan, with many gluten free options. Our wholesale division supplies Northern California grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants with our baked goods. Our fantastic talented staff genuinely enjoy working together as we create menus for our various themes for very appreciative loyal customers, many of whom travel from hours away. Most of our guests book weeks in advance, allowing us to know the numbers and flow for each day providing ease of preparation.
We are looking to add to our team with someone who can move quickly with grace while making our signature salads, small bite savories and delicate tea sandwiches as well as the vital element of plating the towers. We are open Fridays- Sundays with a typical shift of 9:30-10:00 am till 4:30- 5:00 pm.
Position Requirements
* Experience with prepping, cooking and plating in a fine dining venue.
* Ability to prepare our fresh salads and delicate finger sandwiches with an extensive emphasis on quality and presentation.
* Ability to follow recipes to make our savory items. Baking experience is a plus.
* Honed knife skills for vegetable and fruit prep.
* Meticulous attention to detail regarding food and decor presentation, immaculate food handling, and the ability to multi-task in the kitchen to manage the flow of food delivery during peak times to fulfill our popular Fine Dining experience.
* Strong communication skills to be able to interact with our kitchen and serving staff.
* Ensure that food safety rules and cleanliness are maintained.
* Ability to set prep schedule and manage time from prep through clean up.
*Ability to manage inventory.
* Prior lead experience preferred with knowledge of food preparation, and commercial equipment handling skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 25 per week
