Preschool Teacher Assistant
We are looking for an individual who is caring, self-motivated, professional, reliable, responsible, creative, patient, and flexible with a strong work ethic. We require a team player with excellent collaborative and communication skills, who is dedicated and passionate about working with children in our Private Preschool classrooms (ages 18 months-5 years). As a teacher, you will be expected to collaborate with other teachers to create a nurturing and stimulating non-competitive environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Under the guidance of the Director, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive program of activities that foster the social, emotional, physical, and academic growth of each child.
* Maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment that supports optimal development.
* Foster positive relationships with each child, promoting self-esteem and self-discipline.
* Participate in team meetings and engage in staff development activities.
* Conduct daily observations of each child to assess their skills, interests, and needs, facilitating their learning and growth.
* Clean the classroom after specific activities and at the end of each day, ensuring toys are washed, rinsed, and disinfected.
* Handle a variety of daily issues and effectively multitask, responding promptly and appropriately to the changing needs of children.
* Observe classroom dynamics and identify areas where your assistance is most needed.
* Ensure safety and harmony during outdoor activities.
* Supervise children during nap time.
* Clean the classroom and shelves at the end of each day.
These responsibilities require dedication, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the needs of children in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience and interest in working with children
- Strong knowledge of appropriate practices in early childhood development
- Success in working as a member of a team
- Effective and strong communication skills (both orally and written)
- Ability to work well with young children
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet program needs
- Ability to pass a criminal background check

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
