JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Responsibilities:

Main duties include: teaching children preschool appropriate fundamentals, helping them establish social skills and keeping classroom safe and clean

Our Program:

We are a small Christian preschool. Our program is very supportive of our teachers. We team teach, we have a good curriculum and a happy, fun workplace. We are absolutely dedicated to nurturing our preschooler's growth and happiness. We support continuing education for our teachers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Model a Christian attitude and demonstrate Christian behaviors for children

Reinforce Christian values taught in Chapel while students are in the classroom

Be knowledgeable about developmental milestones of preschool students

Be knowledgeable about Ohio’s early learning and development standards and use this as a focus for daily classroom activities

Prepare lessons based on curriculum provided by school

Provide a thoughtfully prepared classroom environment that encourages independent exploration and hands on learning 

Regularly update the classroom environment to reflect current learning topics and maintain student interest

Ensure classroom is cleaned and learning materials sanitized per ODJFS guidance

Conduct assessments regularly and keep parents informed of student’s progress

Regularly communicate with families to ensure their knowledge of activities and current focuses of learning

Keep daily attendance record

Instill a sense of respect and discipline, so children play and work in a calm classroom setting

Engage in continuing education opportunities funded by the preschool

Attend preschool staff meetings

Have a strong commitment to building positive relationships with families and the community

Preferred Education and Experience:

Prior experience as a preschool teacher, CDA or associates or bachelor’s degree, or pursuing education as current course of study

Additional Information:

Position is part-time, 4 hours per day, 3 days per week
