FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT 

This position is a full-time position which reports to the Sr. Executive VP of Finance of the organization. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This position is a Pay Grade 18, starting salary of $60,000, compensation for experience will be considered. General Information:

The Financial Accountant will monitor the financial transactions of the agency to assure that accounting meets GAAP Standards and transactions are made in a timely and efficient manner.  Your role will encompass budgeting, managing tax payments, working with auditors and providing consultancy to senior managers for cost and revenue analyses.

Essential Functions:   

Responsible for financial data and reporting on monthly, quarterly and annual statements, balance sheets and income statements.  Forecast costs and revenues, create W-2 tax forms for agency staff, SSA, DOL reports.  Also responsible for internal audits, reporting on accounting discrepancies, managing monthly ledger closings and generating all cost reports for management. Will maintain petty cash fund, reconciles both operating bank accounts and payroll bank accounts and perform month-end and year-end close processes. Additional reporting, data collection and special reports as required.  The Financial Accountant is responsible for compliance with all accounting regulations for the agency.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, two (2) years of experience in non-profit accounting on a computerized system is preferred. Must be experienced in managing financial software and spreadsheets and knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and Excel.  Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats and possess a strong desire to work with people at all levels (Contractors, KSI Staff and auditors). One must be able to pass a Criminal Background check, Adult Abuse Registry check and Child Abuse Registry check and Sex Offender List check. Must have a valid Delaware driver’s license with no more than two moving violations at time of hire.
