Position Summary: A Nurse Practitioner is responsible for handling patient appointments and performing examinations in a complex patient environment.  Their duties include speaking with their patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records.

 

Our clinic provides care for patients in need of dialysis for both acute kidney injury and end stage kidney disease. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. 

  • Providing primary care to patients, including histories, exams, lab tests, prescriptions and referrals within prescribed up to date guidelines and protocols.
  • Setting up and monitoring medical equipment.
  • Ordering and administering diagnostic tests.
  • Communicating test results to patients and their families.
  • Recording patient medical histories.
  • Operating and maintaining medical equipment.

  • Current RN License, NP certificate and furnishing number. 
  • Curent CPR certification or ACLS
  • Curent DEA License
  • One year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner 
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, analyze and evaluate individual members’ needs, reach sound conclusion and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task effectively.
  • Demonstrate experience in the delivery of primary care.
  • Must be sensitive to the diverse patient population cared for by the clinic.
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge of Clinic Name’s structure, standards, procedures and protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two to Five years of clinical experience in Nephrology including dialysis experience.
  • Primary Care, acute care, and/or ICU experience
