Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the advancement of our engineering solutions. This position will report to our Mount Vernon facility with some travel to our secondary site in Byesville, OH.
About Us:
Heating & Cooling Products manufactures and distributes superior quality sheet metal products. These products include pipe, elbows, boots, rectangular duct, duct fittings, wall stack, oval, black stove pipe and fittings, spiral pipe, spiral PVC pipe and fittings for the HVAC professional.
Primary Job Functions:
- Responsible for troubleshooting, modifying, providing technical support, and tooling in a fast paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
- Develops and designs, tools, mechanical devices, controls, equipment, and mechanical processes as well as identify process deficiencies
- Evaluate equipment malfunctions with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime
- Responsible for implementing and supporting the development, transition and integration of new products and process platforms from R&D into the current manufacturing environment
- Assures product quality by designing testing methods; prototypes and confirming fabrication processes.
- Will facilitate interaction between teams and departments to optimize and achieve reduction in setup and changeover times as well as quality
- Create drawings for new projects and update existing drawings
- Analyze technical data which includes sheet metal forming and tool & die design
- Ability to keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and other repair services
- Collaborate with a team that promotes process improvements
- Submits scope of work for each project that includes budgetary numbers and the goals of each project, including analytical reporting
- Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design while making recommendations for process improvements

- Supports and follows safety policies and procedures within the plant
- Equipment includes but not limited to, production machinery, roll formers, riveters, and other metal forming equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Relative mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD
- Experience with equipment maintenance and
