Job Title: Part-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Location: Community Physical Therapy, LLC

Department: Outpatient Clinic

Reports To: Supervising Physical Therapist

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our outpatient clinic team. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to provide high-quality care to patients. The ideal candidate will assist with implementing treatment plans, help improve patient mobility, and promote overall health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care:
    • Assist Physical Therapists in administering treatment plans to patients.
    • Guide patients through exercises and therapeutic activities.
    • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
    • Provide encouragement and support to patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
  2. Clinical Duties:
    • Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is clean and functional.
    • Apply therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as directed by the Physical Therapist.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant information in the electronic medical records system.
  3. Administrative Support:
    • Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic calendars as needed.
    • Assist with patient intake and discharge procedures.
    • Handle phone calls and patient inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Physical Therapists, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized patient care plans.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in physical therapy.
    • Attend continuing education sessions and in-service training as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an outpatient clinic setting is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
    • Compassionate and patient-focused.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
  • Manual dexterity and strength to perform therapeutic exercises and treatments.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time, with flexible hours that may include mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends as needed.
