The Assistant Tasting Room Manager position is a multi-faceted position that requires an understanding of hospitality, customer service engagement, and the upselling of our product. The Assistant Manager ensures operational excellence by performing managerial tasks, overseeing day-to-day operations, and supporting the store manager. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires availability on most weekends and some evenings and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (Including, but not limited to):
- Reports directly to the Retail + Tasting Room Manager
- Assists in all areas of retail operations and planning events, including acting as the Manager in their absence
- Assists in the training of new employees
- Assists with overseeing retail activities; sales, cash drawers, coupons, and other promotions
- Assists with daily bottle inventory count procedures and input of all inventory data filing
- Follows daily opening and closing procedures of financial paperwork. Secures safe
- Follows opening and closing procedures of daily retail floor operations
- Maintains a clean and organized store with attention to merchandising, displays, lighting, and signage
- Completes, when needed, weekly wine and supply orders
- Assists, when needed, with bank deposits and change orders
- Adhere to all House Policies, PLCB regulations, and CDC guidelines
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EXPECTATIONS:
- Maintain a friendly, courteous, and engaging demeanor with both customers and staff
- Attends weekly meetings pertaining to ongoing projects and events
- Provides excellent customer service
- Maintains wine knowledge of all Chaddsford wines, promotions, and events
- Maintains a professional image both physically and verbally when representing the Winery
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some extended hours, weekends, and holidays
- Always maintains the appearance of the retail floor and customer areas; indoors and outdoors
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages
- Customer Service experience is required
- Must be a passionate and creative self-starter as well as a strong team player
- Must be highly motivated, hardworking, and extremely organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities
- Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks
- Must be able to clearly communicate with management, staff, vendors, and customers
- Must be able to remain calm in the high-pressure, high-volume situations
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to resolve issues that may arise
- Must have adequate computer skills with extensive proficiency in Microsoft 365 on Apple computers
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in hospitality, retail, sales, food & beverage, or events is preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry 40lbs
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand and work at a desk, countertop, or bar for long periods
- Ability to walk, stand, and work on concrete, wood floors, stone, gravel, or grass
- Ability to move around the entire property throughout the day

Job Type: Full-time, 36-40 hrs per week
Business hours: Mon-Thu: 12-5pm, Fri: 12-9pm, Sat: 12-7pm, Sun: 12-6pm.
Shifts are 5-10 hour shifts based on business needs.
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Manager: 1 year (Preferred)
Ability to reliably commute to Chadds Ford, PA 19317 (Required)
Pay: From $18.00 per hour plus gratuity
