The Friday Night Supper Program (FNSP) is looking for a Part-time Kitchen Manager, twice a month for approximately 10 hours/week to coordinate the weekly meals that we serve to our guests. The Kitchen Manager leads the overall planning and preparation of the weekly meal by planning the meal,  supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Kitchen Manager to supplement their current work for someone who wants to gain additional valuable skill,  all while providing a valuable service to some of Boston’s most vulnerable residents. Preference given to those with community meal, catering, or other forms of high volume experience.

Our program operates out of the Arlington Street Church in Back Bay and is easily accessible by T. We serve a hot, fresh sit-down meal every week to anyone who desires to join us, and offer a safe space for community and connection.

Pay rate: Starts at $20-23; Depending on experience.

  • Be present two Fridays a month from 11am-7pm to manage volunteers in preparing and cooking warm, nutritious meals for up to 125 guests each week.
  • Plan weekly meals that are warm, nutritious, and balanced, including a vegetarian/vegan option.
  • Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment during meal prep and serving.
  • Meet a weekly donation truck from the local food rescue agency, and select usable items for that week’s meal from the truck. Must be able to succinctly and creatively identify ingredients and how to incorporate them into the weekly meal.
