HartSCI is seeking a Project Manager - Come join our highly skilled technical team and help lead our company through the next phase of growth! You will be responsible for managing multiple hi-tech optical instrumentation projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, challenging and family-oriented environment. The Project Manager reports to the President and Vice President and is a member of the company management team.

Engineering background required in Mechanical, Optical, ECE or Systems Engineering; advanced degree preferred; MBA a plus. Department of Defense or other government contracting experience highly desirable. Active security clearance a plus. Astronomy background highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and lead the work of integrated project teams including engineers and technicians that are designing, assembling, testing and deploying complex opto-mechanical projects
  • Manage schedules, budgets, resource allocation, planning and project tracking to established metrics using standard project management tools
  • Evaluate and implement new project strategies and procedures
  • Track and ensure compliance of project requirements and contract deliverables
  • Write, compile, maintain and lead presentations required for customer briefing and serve as customer liaison ensuring that expectations are met
  • Manage and facilitate communications between the business and technical units
  • Schedule, lead and document project technical meetings with staff as needed
  • Lead and participate in writing proposals, schedules and budgets for new contracts
  • Ensure schedule milestones and cost targets are met

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years experience as a project engineer plus 5 years demonstrated experience in a project management role (may be concurrent). Advanced degree and/or MBA a plus.
  • Previous experience in Department of Defense technology development projects from whiteboard to project delivery highly desired
  • Strong project management skills including schedules, budgets, deliverables and requirements tracking
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Schedule and detail-oriented
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and small-run production facilities a plus
  • Strong leadership qualities and demonstrated team building
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • US citizenship required due to Federal contract requirements
  • Ablility to travel to attend customer meetings, conferences and short instrument deployment trips
