Overview

Compass CPAs & Advisors, LLC has an immediate opening for a Junior Tax Preparer with income tax preparation experience. This position requires an enthusiastic quick learner, a problem solver, strong math and reconciliation skills, and a positive CAN-DO attitude. In addition, the successful candidate will be extremely detail oriented with excellent communication skills, dependable, and work well in a casual but fast-paced environment.

As a tax preparer, you will be building relationships as a trusted tax professional with clients. You will be part of a professional team in a small-sized CPA firm where you can quickly learn new skills and work in a casual and flexible environment.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare accurate tax returns for individuals or businesses
• Review and collect financial records from clients to determine appropriate tax deductions
• Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information for tax preparation
• Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, to facilitate the tax preparation process
• Study and assist with implementation of new workflow systems to increase efficiency and automation of internal processes

What you need:

• Previous experience with individual, trust, and/or partnership tax returns a plus
• Skills for providing extraordinary customer service, including strong interpersonal skills, while meeting deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently AND thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong technical skills and ability to learn new software
• Experience in accounting, finance, retail, bookkeeping or taxes is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Tax is a plus
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• CPA/EA candidates is a plus
