Company Overview: Restoration Design Group is an interdisciplinary landscape architecture and engineering firm focused on developing public parks, open spaces, and trail networks. Our clients are primarily public agencies and open space districts around the San Francisco Bay Area although our portfolio extends from Los Angeles to southern Oregon. Our staff frequently recreate in the many public places we have designed and help create.
RDG’s landscape architecture work typically integrates environmental restoration with public access. We are most frequently the project prime and our role includes project development, collaboration with an array of scientist and engineers, facilitation with stakeholder groups, development of interpretive programs, preparation of construction documents, and project monitoring.
RDG’s landscape architects serve as project managers and lead the design development process with support staff for the creation of construction documents and specifications. The position offers a high degree of autonomy but is supported by a collaborative team of professionals with expertise in native plants, aquatic and terrestrial ecology, regulatory compliance, fine art/graphics, hydraulics, fluvial geomorphology, and engineering.
Our mission as a firm is to create places that allow for people play, observe, retreat, relax, and reconnect with the natural world within a landscape that provides ecological services even in the urban context.
