<p>Summary of Essential Job Tasks:<br>• Care for, feed, monitor, medicate, and perform minor treatment on animals.<br>• Report observed health or behavior issues to Rescue Center Supervisor.<br>• Clean assigned areas on a daily basis.<br>• Keep current inventory of necessary program supplies and report shortages to Rescue Center Supervisor.<br>• Maintain assigned equipment, supplies and vehicles in safe condition and report any problems or needed repairs to the Rescue Center Supervisor.<br>• Protect the confidential information on customers and donors.<br>• Protect sensitive information regarding animals under protective custody to ensure successful outcomes.<br>• Represent the SPCA of Texas by providing excellent customer service and focus.<br>• Report to work at assigned start time; go to/return from breaks and lunch at assigned times; leave work at assigned quitting time.<br>• Actively engage with volunteers in such a way that provides support for our volunteers and staff and proactively improves our volunteer program.<br>• Be an ambassador for the SPCA of Texas, sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work.<br>• Additional tasks assigned by Rescue Center Supervisor.<br>• The individual performing this job may be required to operate an SPCA of Texas vehicle and perform driver duties as directed if the individual meets the SPCA’s requirements to become a driver. To be eligible, the individual must be 21 years old to meet insurance requirements and must be qualified and licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Texas.<br><br>Abilities Required:<br>• Static Strength: the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds.<br>• Judgment and Decision Making: the ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.<br>• Oral and Written Expression: the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.<br>• Monitoring: the ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.<br>• Emotional and Mental Requirements: the ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
