BASIC NEEDS CASE MANAGER JOB POSTING
Centre Helps is accepting applications for Basic Needs Case Manager (BNCM). The BNCM provides assessment, support, advocacy, and information and referral services to Centre County individuals experiencing a financial crisis which limits their ability to provide for essential needs. Client needs may be related to housing, food, medical needs, childcare, utilities, employment, budgeting and other unique concerns. The BNCM’s role is to provide emotional support, determine eligibility for program services, provide budget counseling, advocate on behalf of client to vendors and private charities, refer to services that meet the needs of the client, and develop an action plan for each client. Centre Helps’ Basic Needs Case Management program is short-term, generally consisting of one face to face intake and assessment appointment and multiple follow ups by phone.
Duties include:
Centre Helps offers a 24-hour crisis and information & referral hotline, basic needs case management, and drug and alcohol education. Hotline services include crisis intervention, suicide prevention, emotional support, and information and referral for human services. We serve as the local call center for the 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Qualities desirable to succeed in this position:
Full time, hourly position. Benefits include health insurance, flexible scheduling, and generous paid time off. Must be willing to work some evenings (approximately 1-2 times per month).
