Overview

We are a comprehensive financial planning and tax firm located in New Brighton, MN.  We are searching for a knowledgeable and client-focused paraplanner to join our team. The paraplanner will assist the lead planners  with day-to-day tasks involving clients' financial plans, situations, and needs. Responsibilities

  • Supporting the lead advisor with ongoing needs.
  • Meeting preparation, assisting during client meetings, client follow-up, summarizing notes, emails, phone calls, and financial data. Managing meeting schedules for lead advisor and clients.
  • Completing data entry into CRM and Financial Planning software.
  • Assist in assessing clients' financial situations, understand their needs, and develop tailored financial strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of clients' financial circumstances, current provisions, and future aims.
  • Place trades or rebalance client investment accounts
  • Advise on financial products and services, ensuring the best options are chosen for individual client needs.
  • Continuously monitor financial market trends and products to provide current and suitable advice.
  • Work closely with other financial professionals in the firm to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Assist clients in establishing retirement goals and develop strategies to ensure clients have the financial means to retire comfortably.
  • Advise on tax-efficient strategies, considering current tax laws and potential tax implications of various financial decisions.
  • Help clients structure their estates to address current and future needs while minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Provide advice on managing and paying down debts, refinancing, and leveraging credit wisely.
  • Regularly review and adjust financial plans based on changes in clients' circumstances, economic conditions, or financial goals.
  • Be open to establishing relationships with other professionals, like lawyers or accountants, to provide a holistic service to clients.
  • Ensure all client communications, recommendations, and actions are compliant with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Stay updated with the latest financial planning techniques, tools, and certifications to provide top-tier advice and maintain professional credibility.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all client interactions, recommendations, and transactions.

Qualifications

  • CFP® or candidate for CFP® is preferred, other experience in financial planning also considered
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in the financial planning profession
  • Bachelor's degree required; Financial Planning or Finance emphasis preferred
  • Growth mindset and ambition to excel in financial planning
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Experience with eMoney, Redtail, Excel, Ycharts is a plus
  • Coachable and willing to be flexible and proactive
