About American Stage Summer Camp:
American Stage offers Summer Theatre Programs for youth age 5 to 17 years old. Camp runs for 8 weeks, from June through August. Themed sessions run weekly, Monday through Friday, culminating in a “Final Sharing” on Friday evenings for family and friends to enjoy.
Position Summary:
American Stage Theatre Company seeks a Camp Manager for its 2024 Summer Camp. The Camp Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of summer camp. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and positive person who possess strong communication skills, takes pride in being detailed oriented in a fast paced environment with many moving parts, is not a stranger to creating and navigating excel spreadsheets, is able to think quick on their feet and is a problem solver, and has the ability to forge meaningful and trusting relationship with kids as well as adults.
The Camp Manager will supervise a staff of teaching artists, their assistants and teen camp counselors with the Director of Education. This special person will have a love for theater arts and working with children of all ages in a theater arts enrichment environment. Possesses a high level of integrity and confidentiality with sensitive camper information. The Camp Manager is the lead on all sharings at the end of each week.
Experience teaching drama and/or musical theater classes to kids is a +++! This person will ideally be available to begin May 20th until August 2nd and attend a post mortem meeting to be scheduled sometime in August after camp ends.
All applicants must reside in the Tampa Bay area.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Staff Management
Parent Communication
· Be a friendly, constant presence in the front office
· Maintain a professional demeanor in all conversations
· Create a newsletter each session to keep parents informed of the camp events
· Be comfortable using the phone to call home or follow up with student issues
Paperwork
· Maintain a daily log of any staff issues and noteworthy camp events
· Keep a clear record of incident reports
· Track various forms, keep them organized
· Create daily schedules, attendant sheets, room assignments
Safety
· Attend CPR and First Aid certification if not already certified
· Administer basic first aid
· Maintain a stocked first aid and medicine kit in the office
· Uphold health, safety and security procedures
Pay: 650/week
