Community Outreach Specialist Job Description

The role of the Community Outreach Specialist position holds responsibilities in several areas throughout the organization. 

Duties:

  • Administrative support for mailings, materials preparation, conference preparation, phone support, etc.
  • Administrative support for fundraising Gala’s, Events and conferences including preparing materials, set/up take down of event materials, overseeing volunteer staff and overall execution of successful events.
  • Develop and foster strategic relationships with youth programs throughout the country where StandupG------------ can foster and enable students to share life affirming resources with their peers.
  • Working closely with the Executive Director, develop a strategic outreach program using Social Media sites, that empowers youth to share life affirming resources with their peers and others and provides support and resources to young people in an unplanned pregnancy crisis. 
  • Create and foster relationships with Church Youth leaders throughout Oregon that furthers the mission of StandUpG------------ Foundation.
  • Working closely with the Executive Director, to create new marketing materials that enable the message and resources of StandUpG------------ to reach youth and young adults in the mediums they are using (i.e. video content, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.)
  • Attending conferences and events to manage an outreach booth for the StandUpG------------ Foundation which could involve travel by air or car.
  • Works with Executive Director and volunteers to build relationships between StandUpG------------ and the community as a whole.
  • Participate in Event Planning and provide administrative support to help execute each event as needed.
  • Responsible for managing the StandUpG------------ Foundation School Advertisement program.
  • Responsible for procuring items for raffles and giveaways at events.
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Utilize email and various Social Media programs. Proficient in doing research on the further.
  • 4 or more hours standing/sitting.
  • 4 or more hours using a computer and looking at a computer screen.
  • This position is being filled at our office in Newberg, OR.
  • Some of these tasks could be in the evenings and on the weekends.
  • Events occur in the evening hours and sometimes on the weekends, but these events are in addition to the regular work hours, not in lieu of.

The position is typically a 32 hr. per week position with the exception of several evening/weekend events and fundraising dinners. 

 

Compensation: This is a full time, salary position. Base pay is DOE between $31,000 - $36,000/year. Benefits/Vacation/Personal time accrued as stated in the Employee Handbook.
