As a Fertilizer Trader at our thriving company, you will play a vital role in selling and delivering a comprehensive range of products, services, and resources to our valued fertilizer customers. You will work closely with key accounts, developing and implementing strategic plans, evaluating market trends, and executing pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly with new and existing customers to elucidate the features and benefits of our products and services.
  • Address all inquiries regarding products or services, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with existing clients to deliver exceptional service and identify opportunities for additional sales.
  • Identify prospects, schedule appointments, conduct effective sales calls, and manage the sales cycle to secure new business across all service categories.
  • Possess comprehensive product knowledge and adeptly handle objections during sales interactions.
  • Achieve sales targets by assessing client needs and following a defined selling process, which may include product demos and presentations.
  • Collaborate with fellow sales representatives to company standards are maintained.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities, focusing on driving results and exceeding targets.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional service.
  • Detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ag, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proven track record in sales, with experience in the fertilizer industry and knowledge of rail, truck, and barge a plus.
  • Ethical conduct, consistency, and trustworthiness in interactions with coworkers and stakeholders.
  • Strong dedication, energy, and desire to achieve.
  • Rapid acquisition of understanding and absorption of new information, creativity, and innovation in approaching challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products and ability to learn new software.

 

Location

This full-time on-site position is based at our Kansas City, Missouri office (1220 Washington Street, Suite 201, Kansas City, MO  64105), 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Minimal travel.
