In the school setting, the Athletic Trainer is the Head Athletic Trainer and is responsible for providing and directing the athletic training services at an area high school. In the clinical setting the role of the ATC is to assist the physical therapist in the treatment of patients referred to the clinic. The clinical Athletic Trainer functions under the continuous on-site supervision of the PT, and performs designated patient care tasks related to the operation of the PT service delegated by the PT or assistant.
