Gather Urban Farms is located in the Old Market disctrict of Omaha. We are looking for interns that are interested in learning by working in our hydroponic farm located under the Gather Restaurant. This position is on-site, and we are looking for people who share our passion for growing food in a sustainable manner.  

We are a small and nimble team, the experience that you gain will allow you to experience most touch points of operations: 

• Plant Development in a hydroponic growing system: leafy greens and microgreens: 
• seeding,  
• nutrient management,  
• water testing,  
• cleaning,  
• pest management 
• harvesting 
• Data Analytics 
• Inventory Management 
• Crop requirement and seed choices for a hydroponic farm 

Minimum Requirements 

• Part-time (10-20 hours/week), 12-24 week internship is open to all students with an interest in horticulture.  
• Microsoft Office skills are helpful. 
• Written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Hardworking and enthusiastic with the ability to responsibly handle physical activity and long periods of standing.

Rate of Pay $18.00 per hour

About Gather Urban Farms 

Gather Urban Farms is a part of the Gather Restaurant Group and operates below Gather Omaha and grows produce that is grown specifically for the restaurant and a handful of customers. The Farm grows in a hydroponic tower system which uses a water-recirculating system to maximize the conservation of natural resources. Growing in a controlled manner results in plants that can get the optimal amount of light and nutrients in an ideal climate.  

The Gather Restaurant Group operates restaurants in Jackson Hole, WY and in Maui, Hawaii.
