Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated music instructor to join our team. As a Teacher, you will play a vital role in instilling the love of music (and guitar) into the hearts of our students and helping them reach their full potential.

If you have a love for working with kids ages 8-12, have some experience playing guitar, and want to work toward creative control of our youth guitar program, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities

- Implement our existing lesson plans, while adapting for each student's goals/ability

- Create a nurturing and inclusive community environment that promotes learning and growth

- Provide individualized instruction to meet the diverse needs of students

- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment

- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure cohesive educational experiences for students

- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development

- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and progress

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a strong desire to work with kids and can play guitar on at least a "hobbyist" level. Our priority is to hire an passionate teacher and our team will devote time to training the candidate to improve as a guitar player.

- Prior experience teaching/tutoring/mentoring

- Experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting

- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles

- Familiarity with basic guitar technique

- Additional instrumental experience is a plus

- Candidate must have an up-to-date child abuse clearance
