MARKETING INTERN POSITION 

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Position Overview

Brandsymbol is seeking a highly motivated, professional, and creative individual to join our team as public relations intern. As a vital contributor to our dynamic creative agency, you'll actively shape our brand identity through strategic research, planning, content creation, campaign management, and engage media relations activities designed to elevate our industry presence.

This internship program is scheduled to run from May-August, requiring a commitment of 25 hours or less per week. It provides a unique opportunity to explore innovative marketing strategies, immerse yourself in the dynamic environment of a creative agency, and gain insights into brand creation from our experienced professionals.

Objectives

• Build and maintain media contact lists and databases.
• Brainstorm and develop new avenues to increase public relations.
• Strategize, develop, and execute marketing campaigns and distribute our press kit to journalists and media outlets.
• Develop and nurture relationships with media contacts.
• Coordinate interviews and media interactions for key personnel.
• Collaborate on social media strategies to enhance PR efforts.
• Contribute to the creation of content for press materials and media marketing materials.
• Use analytics tools to measure and report the impact of PR efforts.
• Research media outlets, journalists, and industry trends.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Enrolled in an accredited University.
• Submission of cover letter, resume, transcripts, and three references.
• Demonstrated extra-curricular and community service activities.

Experience

• Highly motivated and proactive.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Effective decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficient in Canva for designing compelling marketing materials (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic thinking and ability to meet deadlines.

Required for Remote Work

Note: We are open to in-person, remote, or hybrid work for this internship. To continue with a hybrid or remote position, the following conditions must be met.

• Quiet workplace for focused work.
• Meets performance standards for alternative work arrangements.
• High-speed internet (100MB minimum) and video capability. Expected to share the camera during internal and external calls.
• Professional attire and deportment on video calls.
• Must be active on TEAMS and Outlook during working hours with the exception of lunch or small breaks. Must be available to chat and/or call during working hours.
• Technical requirements must be met before the first day of training.
