Job Summary:

Warehouse Employees primary function is to maximize the selection and loading and products by ensuring accurate orders, meeting set target rates per hour, and ensuring product integrity and quality standards are maintained throughout the loading process.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The warehouse worker’s primary responsibility includes the accurate receiving, storing, picking and loading of products.
  • Must be able to unload inbound products safely, accurately and efficiently move products to proper storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area.
  • Maintain the integrity of products through proper handling and storage.
  • Ensure safe operation of a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping to ensure warehouse standards are met in a safe and professional manner. This may include sweeping, consolidation of product, facility maintenance, organizing product and other tasks as necessary.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Able to work in a cold freezer below -20 degrees. Working in this condition is Constant.
  • Safety Equipment: gloves, freezer suit, boots (not shoes) hearing and eye protection as required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing/Walking: Constantly (90%), in below -20 degrees while performing duties, on concrete surfaces.
  • Occasionally (10%), in + 80 degrees while operating outside work as needed.
  • Lift/Carry: Constantly, 1-5 pounds individual ice cream/frozen food products up 4,000 - 7,000 items during daily shift. Occasionally up to 25 pounds boxed and or 6-8 pack ice cream/frozen food product from pallet to freezer rack or four-wheel cart. Ability to lift or push 50 pounds.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently, using both hands and arms while moving materials via wheeled cart.
  • Bending/Twisting: Constantly, at waist constant while loading/unloading items from pallets to freezer shelves and performing stocking duties offloading pallets of ice cream products to freezer carts.
  • Kneeling/Crouching: Constantly, while stocking of freezer shelves or offloading of pallets at floor level.
  • Hands/Arms: Constant use of both hands/arms throughout work shift while forward reaching, handling, gripping, power grasping, and fingering and above shoulder reaching while stocking and pulling orders within warehouse.
  • Sight/Hearing/Speech: Constantly, required to ensure safe operation of equipment, and performing essential functions within the warehouse.
  • Perform general activities in warehouse; loading, unloading, sorting and moving products and materials manually.
