Job Description:
As a Welder, your primary responsibility will be to fabricate and assemble metal structures and components by using various welding techniques. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of welded materials, following safety protocols and specifications provided by blueprints or verbal instructions. Your tasks will involve operating welding equipment, inspecting welded surfaces for defects, and making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine the layout and specifications for welding projects.
Select appropriate welding techniques based on the type of metal and project requirements.
Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, including MIG, TIG, arc, and oxy-acetylene welding machines.
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and cutting using various hand and power tools.
Weld components together to fabricate structures or repair damaged parts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
Monitor welding processes to avoid overheating, distortion, or other defects, adjustments as needed.
Inspect welded joints and surfaces for accuracy, completeness, and structural integrity.
Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
Collaborate with other team members, such as fabricators, engineers, and supervisors, to coordinate welding projects and meet deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, storing equipment and materials properly after use.
