Job description

The experience of our guests is heavily influenced by our river guides. While the role is enjoyable and fulfilling, it can also be physically challenging and requires responsible individuals. If this is you, welcome aboard Captain!

To become a river guide, a comprehensive two-week training course is mandatory and provided by our partner, Blue Sky Rafting. The certification you receive upon completion is recognized by the State of Colorado and can easily be transferred to most other states. If you are already certified as a river guide in Colorado, this course will not be necessary, but you will still need to pass “Check Out” exams for each section of the river.

For those who are certified in other states, a transfer form is available to transfer your training to Colorado. If this applies to you, please let us know.

After finishing the training, it is also required to have personal protective equipment including a PFD (lifejacket), helmet, whistle, and river knife. Once you have completed the training, you will be eligible for pro-deals, which allow you to purchase these items at a reduced cost.

At Hanging Lake Adventure Co-op, our goal is to ensure that our guests have the ultimate adventure and activity experience. This begins with our dedicated river guides who play a crucial role in making this a reality. If you’re eager to be part of a lively and dynamic team and contribute to creating unforgettable memories for our guests, we encourage you to apply now!
