Behavior Technician Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Collect data on client progress and behavior
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Teach and reinforce appropriate social, communication, and daily living skills
- Assist with behavior assessments and functional analyses
- Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to ensure effective treatment implementation
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress and session notes
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and implement behavior plans effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes or other designated locations
