Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll Academy in Waltham, MA is looking for an experienced energetic camp counselor for the February vacation week (February 19th-24th), April vacation (April 15th-19th) and for the whole summer vacation (June 17th - August 30th). Experience in dance and/or gymnastics is required. Must be 18 years or older. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher, college student or an athlete. Emphasize personal safety and emotional well-being with campers, parents and other camp personnel at all times. Camper safety is a top priority.

The Camp Counselor will work on activities, games, arts and crafts projects and more with campers to ensure that they have a fun and safe summer.

Responsibilities:

• Work with children from ages 4 to 12.
• Get along with and work well with the camp director and other counselors.
• Warmly engage campers in exciting activities that foster exploration of skills, hobbies, and interests.
• Work with campers to avert conflict and resolve disputes.
• Communicate clearly with campers and other adults at the camp.
• Help younger children follow rules; model responsibility for older children.
• Know how to administer first aid and CPR in an emergency.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have experience working with children
• Must be available up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday for an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm.
• Experience in dance and/or gymnastics
• Possess up to date CPR/First Aid certifications or able to successfully complete First Aid, CPR, training upon hire.
• Pass a national background check

Compensation:

$15-$17/hr based on experience
