Audio/Video Field Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing audio and video equipment in various settings such as private and public spaces, conference rooms, and educational institutions. They must have great technical skills, the ability to read and interpret schematics, and knowledge of equipment connectivity, power requirements, and audio and visual signal flow. Audio/Video Field Technicians should also be able to diagnose and troubleshoot audio and visual network systems, cabling issues, microphone placements, and audio feedback. Additional job duties may include installing equipment such as microphones, audio speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, and sound systems for events and functions such as college classes, meetings, and presentations, and delivering training on system use and maintenance to clients. Audio/Video Field Technicians may work alone or as part of a team, depending on the size and complexity of the project or event. They must be able to work under pressure and have good communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and event organizers.
Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:
· A minimum of 1 year of experience in the audio/visual industry is required. 2 or 3 years of experience is desired.
· Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification desired but not required
· Mechanical aptitude, soldering experience, low-voltage wiring, ability to lift 50+ pounds, ability to read wiring diagrams, computer literate
· Provide accurate and professional field installation on all company projects
· Assist in service calls as needed
· Test and troubleshoot every installed system to ensure that the system is 100% operational prior to customer acceptance
· Ensure that all installations are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
· Maintain accurate inventory levels for the installation vehicles.
· Maintain accountability and responsibility for customer inventory during transport and delivery of equipment to the customer site.
· Provide accurate time sheets on a weekly basis.
· Provide accurate inventory reports of materials used during system installations.
· Turn over all equipment manuals and system diagrams, to include any modifications to the original design, to the Project Manager at the completion of the installation.
· Maintain proper safety practices at all times.
· Assist the Project Manager and/or Project Engineer as needed
· Maintain a professional appearance at all times – company shirts will be provided
· Represent the company in a positive and professional manner when interacting with clients and vendors.
· Out of state travel may be required from time to time
· Normal work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday Through Friday
