Library Assistant, Youth Services
Under the direction of the Youth Services Manager, and in harmony with Library policies, the Library Assistant serves as a paraprofessional providing services to our younger patrons and their caregivers. Responsibilities include public service duties at the circulation desk, shelving, shelf reading, and reading recommendations. This position also provides programming and outreach services, primarily for preschool children. including but not limited to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.
Qualifications
Skills: Ability to successfully interact and communicate with people of all ages; service oriented, self-motivated; perform job responsibilities with a high level of attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision; work well within a team; basic keyboarding skills and use of email and the Internet.
Hours: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and one rotating Saturday every six weeks, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. No Sundays!
Location: Primarily at Morrisson-Reeves Library with some services rendered at our branch at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.
Pay: $12.00 an hour
