MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST 

Position Title: Mental Health Therapist

Reports To: Executive Director

General Description:

We are looking for a compassionate mental health therapist to be responsible to diagnose and treat mental health disorders for individuals, groups, or families. The mental health therapists' responsibilities also include referring clients to specialists, monitoring progress during treatment, and creating a comfortable environment for clients. We expect our mental health therapists to be professional and keep all client information confidential. A good mental health therapist remains professional yet empathetic and makes clients feel at ease during all phases of treatment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services to individuals, groups or families on an outpatient basis
  • Conduct intake, mental health, and substance abuse assessments (as appropriate per licensure/credentials) and make appropriate referrals
  • Create treatment plans based on individual client needs and monitor client progress during treatment
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date electronic health records for all clients
  • Attend individual supervision, team meetings, client staffing meetings, clinical consultations, counseling and clinical team meetings and other appropriate meetings as assigned

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • Licensed in Kentucky
  • Clinical counseling experience working with children and/or families
  • Experience identifying and implementing evidence-based practices while working children and/or families
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with clients, families, colleagues and others in the human services field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work within a faith community

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $41,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
