JOB SUMMARY:  Position duties include teaching Science class and lab to 5th through 8th grades.  The instructor will oversee the progress of all students, provide for their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly skilled and experienced in a broad range of Science instruction. 

• Performing Science lab once a week for grades 5 and 6 and twice weekly for grades 7 and 8. 
• Instruct, monitor, and evaluate students using learning materials and equipment. 
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Effectively prepare and adapt the classroom for varied classroom activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA or BS in Science, Education, or a related field
• PA Level 1 Teaching Certification (preferred)
• 1-year teaching experience preferred
