A collection agent tracks customer accounts and payment statuses. Collection agents will also assist customers with establishing payment arrangements to satisfy their debt with the company.

- Conduct account analysis and revenue cycle management to ensure accurate and timely collection of payments.
- Perform account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve billing issues.
- Apply mathematical skills to calculate debits, credits, and balances accurately.
                        Requirements
There are no college education requirements to be a collection agent. Many companies will look for candidates who demonstrate a high level of communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate should be able to quickly perform calculations, including rates and percentages. They must be solution-focused and able to calmly work with upset customers.
