Gold Star Property Restoration Inc., a team of attentive and compassionate restoration experts has an opening for a Project Manager.  Gold Star provides restoration and reconstruction services to the Greater Detroit area.  The right candidate must be able to communicate specific information with clear details, take initiative, be a team player and be able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple repair projects from start to finish as follows:

  • Obtain a complete overview and detailed view of the project from the estimator prior to the start of a project
  • Using the provided approved estimate/scope of work create a budget and timeline of the project
  • Using cost reports provided by the accounting department, maintain the created budget and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that minimum gross profit margins are achieved.
  • Provide the estimator with information regarding changes in the scope so that  revised estimates and billings can be submitted as necessary
  • Fully and clearly communicate with property owners, TPA’s and adjusters the timelines and progress of each stage of project, delays of the project, etc.
  • Note all active files assigned at least once a week with current job status and to document communication with property owners, TPA’s and adjusters using online software
  • Apply for permits as necessary and ensure that they are properly closed
  • Coordinate and schedule supply deliveries, in house labor, subcontractors, trades, etc.
  • Conduct on site inspections throughout the process to assess the quality of work being performed and the overall percentage of work completed of the project
  • Identify and troubleshoot any potential problems
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Assist in collecting funds from payment responsible parties

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of local subcontractor and material pricing/construction budgeting
  • Minimum of three years experience in reconstruction as a Project Manager, preferably within the insurance industry
  • Xactimate, XactAnalysis and TPA experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Positive attitude
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Efficiently work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously 
  • Pass a background check and have a clear driving record
  • Knowledge of industry standards and/or industry certification a plus
