Irrigation Installation Foreman Job Description

 

CLS, INC. has been a top provider of commercial landscaping services for over 25 years. The company was founded on craftsman-like workmanship and the work environment is “all hands on deck”, twelve months a year. Pay is commensurate with experience and performance, $40-60k.

 

Summary of Position 

 

You will be responsible for installing client’s irrigation equipment. As a technician you will be mapping out irrigation areas, digging trenches, installing equipment, testing the system, and conducting regular maintenance checks.  To ensure success as an irrigation Foreman, you should exhibit a strong work ethic, have detailed knowledge of irrigation techniques, and be able to operate heavy machinery when required. Ultimately, a top-level Irrigation Foreman can expertly install any sized irrigation system to fit the needs of the client. The Irrigation Technician will be expected to help complete landscaping projects and help with irrigation service calls when necessary. The irrigation technician will also be able perform start-ups and shutdowns of systems we maintenance as needed. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and loading equipment for the day’s work.
  • Driving to the client’s location.
  • Mapping out areas for irrigation installation.
  • Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines.
  • Installing pumps and electrical timers.
  • Testing the irrigation system 
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks.
  • Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts.
  • Completing progress reports and associated paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Operate labor-saving equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven work experience as an Irrigation Installer or Technician.
  • Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical is preferable.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of soil, vegetation, and climate.
  • Operation of Vermeer stand-behind or similar equipment
