D&H Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist who is looking for something different. We have an opportunity for someone to be part of a truly integrated multidisciplinary team, free from the rapid pace, no coding demands, not insurance driven, and no unpaid documentation time. Caseload averages 1 patient session per hour.
We have built a strong reputation and have established great respect with the administrative and extended medical team through the outstanding level of care delivered by our devoted rehab team. With "out of the box" thinking from our valued team, we have been able to develop programs providing cost savings, barrier reductions, enhanced problem solving and accessible resources. This is a non-traditional setting serving inmates in very safe and well monitored dispensaries.
Diverse clinical population consisting of primarily orthopedic (both non and post surgical), general musculoskeletal disorders/injuries, along with some neurological.
Responsibilities
- Perform timely comprehensive evaluations and re-assessments of progress and needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Physical Therapy Assistants for the ongoing care, progress and interventions.
- Provide direct care to patients as caseload determines.
- Document and update electronic medical records on each patient session.
- Provide feedback and input to core medical team and others.
- Perform hospital visits for assessments of appropriate admissions & care needs.
- Actively participate in collaborative care with the medical team including MD's, PA's, NP's, nurses and your rehab peers, OT & SLP who ask and value your clinical input.
- Participate in the current custom clinics: unique functional assessments, pain management and joint injections.
- Assist in developing additional programming and clinics.
- Be a liaison with other disciplines for problem solving issues as they relate to clinical intervention.
- Continued development of patient educational materials and classes.
- Expand and provide PCP supportive materials to ensure efficient & effective service & referrals.
- Possible role in student development.
Desired Experience and Education
- BS, MS or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
- Current PT license in RI.
- Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience preferred, but not required.
- Bi-lingual a plus
- CPR certification (preferred)
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
