Experience in bar or restaurant, hospitality, entertainment, teaching and/or an outgoing personality are all qualities that will make you a great candidate to learn how to guide people through their axe throwing adventure!
Responsibilities and Duties
The Shift Lead is expected to lead employees and safely guide customers as they throw axes, pour themselves a beer, and experience the other axciting games provided within the facility. Our entire purpose at Hold My Beer is to take care of the customer and our employees, ensuring that everyone who steps into our facility or contacts us feels heard, respected, and welcomed.
Duties include:
- Being A Team Player
- Safety: Ensure all safety guidelines, protocols, and equipment requirements are met without compromise.
-Coaching: Train and guide customers through proper axe throwing techniques and provide continued coaching throughout their experience, help them improve, & ensure they have a memorable and exciting experience at our facility.
Beer Ambassador: Provide “Beer Wall Tours” explaining how the self-service taps work, be able to discuss the different variations of craft beers, and assist with technical/software issues as needed.
-Equipment/Facility: Ensure equipment, ranges, targets, and other items are all ready for sessions, groups are beginning and ending on time, tournament/leagues are running smoothly and set up on time, and any other duties as assigned. S/he also ensures the facility is in neat, clean and tidy order.
-Facility Supervision: Ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are completed, cleanliness of the facility is a top priority, and customers are enjoying their experience. Must be able to change kegs, clean beer lines, assist vendors, and deal with difficult customers.
-Sales: Upsell merchandise, promote leagues, discuss lane sponsorships, and schedule/manage private, corporate, and group events.
- Food Handling & Preparation: Prepare food within the perimeters provided by ownership and the health department.
All Other Tasks As Directed By Ownership.
Qualifications and Skills
-Must be 18 years of age or older
-Excellent communication skills, speaks clearly, concisely, and loudly, good sense of humor, is a people person.
-Must be comfortable dealing with upset customers and be willing to stand ground to uphold company policies
-Team player, no drama.
-Proactive thinking and action are a must. Finds ways to prevent issues before they arise.
-Experience in entertainment, recreation, hospitality, education, & management.
-Enthusiasm and reliability.
-Must be available to work evenings/weekends.
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run, throw axes, change out targets, and lift/adjust kegs.
