Job Title: Junior Accountant

Responsibilities: 

As a Junior Accountant at Gulf Coast Accounting and Tax, you will be responsible for: 

1. Personal Tax Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws, and identifying potential deductions and credits to maximize clients’ tax benefits. 
2. Business Tax Preparation: Supporting the preparation of business tax returns for various entities, such as sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations, while adhering to regulations and optimizing tax planning strategies. 
3. Payroll Services: Assisting in processing payroll for clients, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings, and maintaining meticulous payroll records. 
4. Bookkeeping: Maintaining accurate financial records for clients, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. 
5. Client Interaction: Communicating with clients professionally and providing excellent customer service, addressing their accounting-related inquiries and concerns. 
6. Collaboration: Working closely with senior accountants and management to ensure seamless service delivery and maintaining high-quality standards. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
• Knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations. 
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, CCH Axcess) and MS Office suite. 
• Strong Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities. 
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• A kind person. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• An enrolled agent.
• Previous experience in accounting or tax preparation (internships or entry-level positions). 
• CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA certification.
