Local Tax Preparation Firm looking for Staff Accountant!

Position is primarily located in our Mansfield Ohio office, but you will also have some work year-round in our Bucyrus Ohio office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Income Tax Preparation for Individuals.
• Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Bookkeeping for Small Business Clients.
• Payroll Services from check preparation to quarterly tax filings to year end work.

Candidate MUST HAVE:

• Friendly, Smiling face!
• Minimum Associates degree in Accounting - Bachelors preferred.
• Aptitude for and Interest in Taxation as this will be your primary focus.
• Willingness to study for and pass Enrolled Agent exam within 1 year.
• MUST be proficient working with computers. We use Sage/Peachtree, Drake and Windows products.
• Willingness to work 50 plus hours per week during tax season (Mid-January to Mid-April each year.)
• Some prior accounting/tax preparation experience is preferred, but will train.
• Good Telephone work skills and etiquette are required. As well as prior customer service experience.
• Must be a self-starter -- able to manage work-flow with little supervision.

We Offer:

• 28-32 hour work week in off season, but 50 hours is required during tax season.
• Salary ($45K-55K) plus tax season bonus. (Negotiable)
• 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service.
• Casual work environment.
• Employer paid training and education, including travel if required.
