As a Program Aide, you will be responsible for planning and organizing various activities and programs under the guidance of the Unit Director, with the support of the Program Assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • As a staff member at the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods, your main job is supervising Club members. You'll ensure everyone follows the Club's rules and regulations while providing a safe and supportive environment that encourages community and helps young people develop the skills they need for success. You'll keep a positive attitude while engaging members in scheduled activities and offer helpful feedback and suggestions for improvement. Plus, you'll ensure our members stay safe and secure by promoting order and managing potential risks effectively.
  • As a leader, you'll be a role model for responsible behavior, constructive conflict resolution, and accountable for your actions and decisions. You'll always maintain a positive attitude when interacting with colleagues, parents, teachers, and other school staff, and strive to be approachable and respectful in your communication.
  • As a colleague, you'll ensure the facility stays clean and tidy by directing members to clean up after their activities and following the guidelines provided by the Unit Director for closing and cleaning procedures.
  • As a Program Aide, you'll create fun, interactive activities that teach children about healthy habits, character development, and leadership skills and help teenagers prepare for the future.

Requirements:

  • You must have completed high school and experience working with low-income, disadvantaged children to qualify for this position. Additionally, you should have demonstrated expertise in planning and implementing youth programs.
  • The ideal candidate for this position is patient, attentive, and able to create a positive environment for children. You should have experience organizing group activities, knowledge of child development, and excellent communication skills.
  • Our ideal candidate has experience promoting healthy habits among young individuals, specifically focusing on physical activity and nutrition. Moreover, they should have expertise in delivering nutrition education and assisting young people in evaluating, practicing, identifying, considering, and recognizing healthy practices and messages.
  • If you have experience leading clubs for 11-13-year-olds, developing leadership and character skills, or experience with community service, education, health, and fitness projects, that's a major plus!

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $16.25 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
